A Spirited Afternoon at the Houston Polo Club
Chukkers for Everyone
Matches run in the spring and fall and feature exciting world-class polo competitions open to the public on Sundays. The game itself is fast-paced and thrilling, lasting approximately two hours and consisting of four to six seven-minute chukkers.
Between or during chukkers, players change mounts to keep the horses fresh and energized. Each player typically brings one horse for every chukker, along with several “spare” horses waiting on the sidelines in case a mount tires during play. Watching the athleticism and precision between horse and rider is part of what makes polo such a captivating spectator sport.

Yes, There is Divot Stomping
One of the afternoon’s most beloved traditions comes during halftime, when spectators are invited onto the field for “divot stomping.” Guests help replace the mounds of earth torn up by the horses’ hooves while enjoying the opportunity to stroll the field, mingle, and socialize.

Champagne on the Lawn
Guests can indulge in South American–inspired cuisine by Chef David Cordúa along with a premium selection of drinks from the club’s exclusive on-site concession, The Lymbar. The new Champagne and Caviar Bar on the Red Oak Courtyard Lawn adds a luxurious touch. It’s the perfect setting to sip champagne, enjoy elegant bites, and soak in the sophisticated atmosphere.

Dress the Part
Polo fashion is part of the fun, and guests are encouraged to wear stylish yet comfortable attire that reflects the elegance of the sport. Think spring dresses, linen separates, colorful blazers, polished loafers, wedges, and designer sunglasses. You’ll also see statement hats, smaller sunhats, and dainty parasols for sunny-day protection.

Whether planning an intimate afternoon or a larger gathering, there are seating options for everyone. Individual tickets are available for $18 to $45, and private boxes accommodating 4 to 20 guests maybe reserved for $260 to $1,300, providing an elevated experience ideal for entertaining friends, family, or colleagues.
