Ronald McDonald House Charities - Greater Houston
The Houstonian is proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities-Greater Houston. Since its inception in 1978, RMHC-GH has built a safe haven within the Texas Medical Center for families of seriously ill children, providing shuttles for families in the Medical Center, rooms for overnight stays for families in need, and meals to food-insecure families through the JoyFULL Eats program.
Our "In the Fight" special hotel room offer provides special rates for cancer patients visiting Houston for treatments and procedures, and we have the privilege of donating $10 per room to RMHC-GH each quarter.

Annual Kids & Clays Open
Since 2023, The Houstonian Hotel has proudly sponsored and organized the Annual Greater Houston Sports Club Kids & Clays Open, exemplifying its deep-rooted commitment to community service and heartfelt hospitality. A powerful combination of compassion, camaraderie, and culinary excellence has helped raise almost $350,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities - Greater Houston.
Trafigura Run for the House
The Houstonian team was proud to participate in the Trafigura Run for the House, coming together to support Ronald McDonald House Charities - Greater Houston and its mission to provide vital comfort and care to families when they need it most. The event successfully raised both funds and awareness for this remarkable organization, and we are especially honored to share that The Houstonian received the Community Partner Award for having 71 participants - the largest corporate team in attendance.
Fleet Feet
Each year, The Houstonian Club collects hundreds of pairs of athletic shoes to be distributed to various charitable organizations in our community through Fleet Feet. Fleet Feet continues to build on the good work happening at their store locations every day through their charitable arm, Do the Run Thing, which serves underserved communities in need of mentorship, programming, and support.
Children’s Assessment Center
The Houstonian Club staff and members bring hope and joy to hundreds of children every holiday season by donating toys and games to brighten their lives as they begin their healing journey. The Children's Assessment Center is guided by the belief that all children in our community deserve to grow up safe, happy, and healthy in a world free of child sexual abuse.
Dress for Success Houston
The mission of Dress for Success Houston is to empower women in need to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help them thrive in work and life. The Houstonian Club holds an annual suit drive for resource-insecure women during the first week in March, and our Club Members give generously. Members of our team are proud to serve on the Corporate Guild.
Periwinkle Foundation
The Periwinkle Foundation enriches the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses through camping and recreational programs. Since 1996, The Houstonian has underwritten the annual "Cycle for Life” event held at the Club, providing the facility and staff for the half-day competitive cycling event. The event raises funds to send underserved children to camp. Thirty-five teams of five participants each collect donations on the calories riders burn throughout the day.
Smokin' for Spindletop
The Spindletop Golf Tournament is the world’s largest energy-industry charitable golf tournament, held annually in Houston to raise funds for charities serving at-risk youth and families. Nearly 300 executives and leaders representing Fortune 500 energy, oil, and gas corporations gather for two days of golf to raise funds for Spindletop Community Impact Partners. The Houstonian Cook Team proudly volunteers, bringing friendly smiles and our best grilled and smoked meats from the Big Sam BBQ pit.
Pathways for Little Feet
Pathways for Little Feet was established in 2008 and is dedicated to bringing families together by overcoming the financial barriers to adoption. Each spring, The Houstonian underwrites the Little Plates Chef Competition. The cost of adoption or fostering a child is a barrier that can seem like a mountain to overcome for families, and Pathways' goal is to provide assistance through counseling, therapy, and adoption grants.
First Responder Initiatives
The Houstonian is strongly committed to the community and has profound respect for all those on the front lines working to protect us all. The Houstonian spread a message of positivity and kindness during the pandemic by carefully packaging hundreds of meals for first responders and our surrounding neighbors. The Houstonian also hosts "Coffee with a Cop," a Houston Police Department initiative to bring the community together.
